EU prolongs individual anti-Russian sanctions until March 15, 2021

BRUSSELS, Sep 10 (PRIME) -- The E.U. has extended individual sanctions against 175 Russians and 44 organizations over Ukraine for another six months until March 15, 2021, the E.U. Council said in a statement on its website on Thursday.

“Today the Council decided to extend the sanctions targeting persons and entities that continue to undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, for a further six months until March 15, 2021,” the statement read.

“The existing restrictive measures provide for both travel restrictions and the freezing of assets, and will continue to apply to 175 persons and 44 entities. The decision was adopted by the Council by written procedure. The legal acts will be published in the Official Journal on 11 September 2020.”
